Sahel Resilience Project
Sahel Resilience Project
August 8, 2021
The interaction of climate and environmental risks with socio-economic and political realities warrants a systemic and multi-hazard approach that mobilizes the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its regional and national partners to accelerate sustainable development in the Western Sahel region.
With funding from Sweden and UNDP, the initiative Strengthening Capacities for Disaster Risk Reduction and Adaptation for Resilience in the Sahel Region: fostering risk-informed solutions for sustainable development (or Sahel Resilience Project) addresses regulatory, policy and budgetary frameworks for disaster risk governance at regional and national levels, focusing on generating data and evidence to promote recovery processes that take into account underlying disaster and climate change risks, as well as urban risks.
