Diversity in the judiciary is crucial for enhancing the legitimacy of courts and ensuring fair justice. When court users and justice seekers see themselves reflected in decision-makers, they are more likely to trust the outcomes and seek legal assistance. Judges with diverse perspectives bring a richer and more informed approach to the law, contributing to its application and development. A judiciary representative of the society it serves increases public confidence and utilizes diversity as an essential tool for achieving equitable justice.

Highlighting on these principles, the International Seminar on Improving the Quality of Female Judges' Leadership Towards the Supreme Judicial Body, was organized by the Indonesian Women Judges Association on 26 April 2024 in Jarkata. The event emphasized the importance of gender parity in building public trust. According to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers, only 30% of judges in Asia and Oceania were women in 2022, with their representation significantly decreasing further up the court hierarchy. The event featured a panel discussing the barriers preventing women from seeking high office in courts, factors contributing to holistic judges' well-being, and risks leading to judicial stress.

Despite challenges, speakers shared a common understanding that the path towards an inclusive justice system is filled with opportunities. They discussed program activities where diversity has been and could be promoted in the courts. Inspired by existing courageous women leaders, vigilance and collective determination are essential to enhance the experience and drive positive change.
