UNDP Bahrain recently held a significant consultation with key private sector representatives, aimed at strengthening partnerships to support Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.
The event served as a platform for participants to share insights and explore the private sector’s vital role in advancing the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development, in alignment with the 2030 Agenda. Discussions focused on collaborative opportunities in areas such as economic diversification, climate resilience, youth empowerment, digital transformation, green financing, and business and human rights.
Reflecting on the importance of private sector collaboration, Jehan AlMurbati, UNDP Bahrain Head of Office a.i., remarked, “The private sector plays a significant role in helping achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. At UNDP, we’re focused on building transformative relationships with the private sector—working together to co-create solutions that not only address Bahrain’s national priorities but also create shared value for businesses.”
This consultation is part of the broader development process for the UNDP Country Programme Document (CPD) 2025-2029. Through this dialogue, private sector participants contributed valuable perspectives on aligning their activities with Bahrain’s national priorities and the SDGs, paving the way for a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.
The session concluded with a productive discussion on the next steps for integrating private sector contributions into Bahrain’s development framework.
Together, we are shaping a sustainable and prosperous future for Bahrain.
