Strengthening Institutional Capacity for SDGs Achievement in Bangladesh (SC4SDG)
Strengthening Institutional Capacity for SDGs Achievement in Bangladesh (SC4SDG)”, is a multi-year initiative to support the Government of Bangladesh. This is the successor of 'Support to Sustainable and Inclusive Planning (SSIP)' and 'Engaging with Institutions (EI)', IP project and aims at providing technical assistance in the formulation of evidence-based policy formulation, implementation, localization, financing, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and outreach of SDGs in Bangladesh.
AREA OF WORK
Strengthened capacity of the National Human Rights Commission to deliver on its mandate;
Enhanced capacity of civil society and community based organisations to engage in human rights advocacy and awareness raising;
Enhanced capacity of law enforcement agencies, in particular police, on human rights issues;
Strengthened capacity of national stakeholders to better protect and promote women’s rights;
Strengthened capacity of national stakeholders to better protect and promote the rights of ethnic minorities;
KEY RESULTS
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) can more effectively deliver on its mandate;
CSO/CBOs raise human rights awareness and promote a human rights culture; Law enforcement, in particular the police, upholds and promotes human rights; NHRC and national stakeholders better protect and promote women’s rights;
NHRC and national stakeholders better protect and promote the rights of ethnic minorities.
OBJECTIVE
The Human Rights Programme aims to strengthen justice and human rights institutions to better serve and protect the rights of all citizens, including women and vulnerable groups. Particularly, the objectives of the programme is to build the capacity of key human rights actors through collaboration and cooperation to advocate for and promote human rights for the most vulnerable communities in Bangladesh.
