The report – delivered by the Media Institute of the Caribbean - assesses media coverage of youth involvement in crime in Barbados, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and the coverage of trafficking in persons in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago, addressing critical concerns around legal and ethical considerations, solutions journalism, data journalism, and investigative and human interest reporting.
This research included a media ecosystem analysis which provided a better understanding of media consumption and interest patterns as defined by age and gender, and involved a series of interviews with journalists, media practitioners and academia. Several recommendations were made based in findings in the report and this led to the development of training for journalists in all beneficiary countries.
