December 28, 2023
The Statistics and Energy Balance report is the first energy data report produced in-house by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) with support from UNDP Cambodia. The report was prepared based on the energy balance builder from the International Energy Agency (IEA) and data inputs from relevant line ministries.
This report is an essential resource that offers comprehensive data and tools to track energy supply and consumption in the Kingdom. In 2021, the total energy supply was 7,573 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent (ktoe), primarily sourced from petroleum and gases (42.84%), biomass (28.22%), coal (18.32%), and renewable and imported energy. In the same year, total energy consumption was 6,656 ktoe, mainly for industrial (37.19%), transport (33.47%), residence (17.33%), and other sectors.
