This note summarizes the key takeaways of the Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing Workshop on Low-Carbon Transition and Green & Sustainable Finance, jointly organized by the United Nations Development Programme in China, the International Cooperation Centre (ICC) of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and the China Development Bank’s Innovation and Development Center for BRI, with expert support from the World Resource Institute (WRI) and funding support from the Tanoto Foundation. The three-day workshop provided a platform for dialogue between Chinese and international experts, promoting an exchange of ideas and best practices for policymakers at national and local levels in China. The discussions were geared towards enhancing policy development and implementation to support a low-carbon transition, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Climate Agreement.
 
The note collected insights from the workshop on policy innovation for low-carbon and clean energy transition, integration of the SDGs into low-carbon development strategies, creation of effective emission reduction pathways, and the importance of ensuring a just transition for all. It also includes recent developments in green finance policies and sustainable finance standards both in China and globally.
