The bi-communal Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage (TCCH) has launched designs for the preservation of the mosque of Orounda village in the Nicosia area. The building, which was used by the local Muslim community as a masjid, is over 100 years old and has decayed due to weather conditions. The conservation plans include rainwater management and the preservation of historic elements.
The project is part of the Support to Monuments of Great Importance for the Communities of Cyprus - Phase 6 project, funded by the European Union.
