Thursday, 6th December
- 17:00 - 18:15 pm – Finding Common Ground – Linking Cities, NAPs, and the NDCs. Location: NDCP Pavilion
Join UNDP and UN-Habitat for a discussion on emerging strategies to integrate urban climate adaptation into national Adaptation planning processes (NAPs). - 18:00 - 19:30 – Global Youth Video Competition on Climate Change. Location: The Action Hub
Showcasing the power of young people as key players in reaching innovative and ambitious solutions to combat climate change.
Friday, 7th December
- 09:00 - 10:15 – Scaling up adaptation: promoting synergies between NDCs and NAPs. Location: NDCP Pavilion
A panel session with the Governments of Bhutan, Côte d'Ivoire, Malawi and Mongolia, exploring how countries are moving ahead in aligning - NAPs and NDCs, to accelerate climate change adaptation action.
Monday, 10th December
- 8.30 - 10.00 – Partnership Together for Climate Finance: Towards the Achievement of Paris Agreement and SDGs”. Location: Indonesian Pavilion
This panel session showcases, and shares lessons learned about the Green Sukuk initiative by the Indonesian government, supported by UNDP Indonesia.
Tuesday, 11th December
- 13:30 - 14:30 – Capacity-building to raise finance for low emissions and climate resilient strategies. Location: PCCB Exhibit Room (Inside COP Venue)
The session will bring together diverse communities of practice to have in-depth discussions on building national capacity to implement low emissions and climate resilient development strategies. - 17:00 - Using the SDG Agenda to enhance NDC implementation. Location: NDCP Pavilion
How the SDGs will help you enhance and advance NDC implementation: options and concrete examples from country experiences.
Wednesday, 12th December
- 09:00 - 17:30 – Investment COP. Location: Vienna House Easy Angelo / Katowice, Poland
The inaugural Investment COP will be the first convening of countries, project developers, investors and other stakeholders to design and mobilise investment projects. - 11:30 - 13:00 – One UN side event on SDG15: Forests first. Location: Wisla
From 10 years of REDD+ to the full scope of nature-based climate solutions. - 12:30 - 14:00 – FAO and UNDP: Gender mainstreaming in adaptation for agriculture. Location: COP 24 Pavilion E Ground Floor - Pacific and Koronivia Pavilion
The event will feature speakers from Fiji, Guyana, Kenya, Tonga, and Uruguay providing insights based on national experiences in mainstreaming gender in adaptation for agricultural development.
Thursday, 13th December
- 17:00 - 18:30 – The Tipping Point - Defining a new path to mainstream and accelerate climate change adaptation in Africa. Location: NDCP Pavilion
The Africa Adaptation Initiative (AAI) and UNDP explore the opportunities to build on lessons learned from over 15 years of adaptation. See report here.
The period from now until 2020 is critical to the success of the Paris Agreement. For UNDP, UN partners and the wider international community, the mission is clear: to push for countries, communities and the private sector to scale up ambition.
