This assessment report explores the potential role of urban agriculture in the post-conflict Ninawa Governorate in north Iraq, arguably the historical home of agriculture in urban settings.

The report contains three main parts:

1. an introduction to the theme of urban agriculture, livelihoods and resilience;
2. an examination of urban agriculture in Ninawa, Iraq and;
3. suggestions for the development and implementation of an urban agriculture programme in Ninawa Governorate.
