Within the scope of activities in the EU funded project “Enhancing women participation in Peace building and post planning processes” implemented in partnership between UN Women- EU and UNDP, one out of three UNDP’s component was the Mapping of local initiatives on Women Peace and Security in Kosovo 1999-2012. Document covers database with all of the initiatives taken by the United Nations, the European Union, the EU Member States, local structures, NGOs/INGOs on Women Peace and Security in the form of programs and/or project from 1999 – 2012. Database is organized into subcategories informed by the Resolution 1325 indicators as suggested by UN Security Council. UNSCR 1325 Indicators were utilized as a tool to map the initiatives undertaken which have led and lead to improving that particular indicator. Also specific legal framework relevant to UNSCR 1325, description of the pillars of UNSCR 1325, protection, prevention, participation and relief and recovery, as well as the description of the key implementing institutions of the UNSCR 1325 are part of this report.
