COVID-19 in the Kyrgyz Republic: Socioeconomic and Vulnerability Impact Assessment and Policy Response

This assessment is the result of close cooperation between the UN System through leadership of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Economic Policy Research Institute in the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ministry of Economy, in support of national efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The report describes how the global, regional and national macroeconomic shocks arising from the COVID-19 pandemic are affecting the Kyrgyz Republic’s population and proposes policy recommendations to mitigate these negative socioeconomic effects.
