On 1st December 2023, as part of the Africa Election Fund Project funded by German Cooperation, UNDP Elections Advisor Team conducted a workshop titled 'Advancing IEC Communications and Public Outreach Efforts' for the staff of the Independent Election Commission (IEC) Lesotho's Public Relations Office.

The workshop addressed the mandate of the IEC concerning communications and public outreach and explored the principles and objectives guiding IEC's communications.

Participants engaged in a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) of IEC's communications approach and discussed the framework for a comprehensive communications strategy.

Mr. Brabim Kumar KC, UNAMI, Office of Electoral Assistance/ UNDP Communications Specialist for elections, provided insights on enhancing the IEC website and its social media platforms. Following the workshop, UNDP will assist IEC in developing a robust communications strategy and establishing guidelines for social media engagement.
