Mozambique Recovery Facility

The Mozambique Recovery Facility (MRF) programme has been developed in the aftermath of Cyclones Idai and Kenneth, aiming to contribute to Mozambique’s rapid restoration of development pathways.

UNDP established the programme in a five-year multi-donor fund (USD 72.2 million), to coordinate and implement short-to-long term recovery actions that address root causes of vulnerability and build resilience to future disasters. UNDP’s vision of the cyclone recovery programme in Mozambique is centered on development, governance and resilience.

Action pillars of MRF:

  1. Resilient Lvelihood Recovery and Women Economic Empowerment
  2. Resilient Housing and Community Infrastructure
  3. Institutional Strengthening of the Government’s Post-Cyclones Reconstruction Cabinet (GREPOC)
