The Toolkit on Integrating Migration into Environment and Climate Change Interventions is part of a series of tools developed under the Mainstreaming Migration into International Cooperation and Development (MMICD) project, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
It is intended to provide concise, operational, and user-friendly information and tools to support partners to understand how migration can be reflected in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development cooperation interventions (i.e. projects or programmes) that have an environment and climate change focus. The tools can be adapted to various contexts to make development cooperation more coherent and effective by harnessing the development potential of migration and ensuring that any related challenges and/or opportunities are fully assessed.
This Toolkit has been designed to be used by international cooperation and development actors working in, or with, the environment and climate change sector. While the specific target audience are international cooperation and development actors, it can also be useful for other partners who are engaged in designing, implementing, and/or evaluating interventions
