The research examines the labour market within the tourism and health and wellness sectors across 14 municipalities in five regions of Georgia: Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Guria, Imereti, Kakheti, and Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti.

The study was commissioned by the European Union and UNDP and conducted by the research organization "ACT" in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Skills Agency.

Key Findings:

• Employer Challenges: Employers cite low qualifications and insufficient motivation of job seekers as significant barriers to employment.
• Lack of Cooperation with Vocational Schools: A striking 88% of employers do not collaborate with vocational schools, with 31% unaware of the benefits such partnerships might offer.
• Limited Interaction with Educational Institutions: Only 24% of employers have any experience working with professional educational institutions, primarily through providing internships and practical training.
• Regional Demand: Across all regions, service, sales personnel, technicians, and assisting specialists are the most in-demand professional groups.
• Tourism Sector Needs: The most sought-after roles in the tourism sector include cooks (34%), waiters (20%), and hotel service personnel (15%).
