ZRBF Sustainability of Interventions

July 6, 2023

The Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF) was designed to build the resilience of individuals, households, and communities in rural Zimbabwe. The program was multi-sectoral, addressing a range of economic, environmental, and social shocks and stresses.

To ensure the sustainability of the programme's interventions, ZRBF worked with existing structures and platforms within government and at the community level. Sustainability strategies were embedded in the day-to-day implementation of the activities, with the goal of strengthening ownership for the people and institutions to continue performing the functions beyond the life of the ZRBF interventions.

The ZRBF programme is an example of how a multi-sectoral approach can be used to build the resilience of communities in the face of shocks and stresses. The programme's sustainability strategies are helping to ensure that the programme's interventions have a lasting impact on the lives of people in rural Zimbabwe.
