The Minister of Education, Science, and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, met with the UNDP Resident Representative in Montenegro, Ekaterina Paniklova.
Paniklova has highlighted the important role of UNDP in shaping the strategic and legislative framework for innovation, actively contributing to strengthening innovation ecosystems in Montenegro.
“Transformative innovation and technological progress are recognized as crucial factors for promoting sustainable growth and development. Montenegro has exceptional innovation potential within its scientific and business community, and with the support of the Innovation Fund and the Science and Technology Park, it can make positive strides for society and serve as a catalyst for sustainable development in Montenegro. Therefore, UNDP’s mission is to support the Montenegrin Government in positioning Montenegro as a prominent destination on the global map of innovators, promoting economic growth, job creation, improved competitiveness, and quality of life. I look forward to the collaborative partnership between the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation and the UNDP in promoting innovation in development and public policy, digitalization in the innovation and education system, and e-services for public services provision. In this way, we will further emphasize our commitment to advancing innovation and using digital solutions to enhance public service delivery”, said Paniklova.
The meeting explored options for further collaboration, emphasizing the successful cooperation in the digitization of public services, including student services. The creation of e-services for enrolment in kindergartens, primary schools, and the state university has significantly simplified this process. It was concluded that UNDP’s efforts in improving and digitizing public service systems are a clear indicator for the continuation of successful collaboration in the future.
