The agro-processing sector plays a pivotal role in driving Albania’s economic development, contributing significantly to the country’s Gross Domestic Product and employment opportunities. Over the past decade, the sector has experienced growth and emerged as one of Albania’s primary economic pillars. Accompanied by the related Stocktaking report, the Zero Roadmap outlines essential future interventions that the agro-processing sector in Albania must undertake to ensure its resilience and alignment with SDGs and the European Green Deal.

The report is co-authored by UNDP Albania and FAO Albania and published based on the study and research conducted under the UN Joint Project framework “Business Partnerships and Solutions for SDGs”, funded by Sweden, represented by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) to the UN Albania SDG Acceleration Fund.
