SOP for Social Service Provision in Earthquake Affected Regions
February 5, 2024
Social service provision is one of the major tools for empowerment and resilience, supporting people in having control over their own lives and the "opportunities" and "choices" for increased capabilities. This makes it an important means of human development.
Knowing that, the existence of well-organized, effectively functioning and shock responsive social protection system and social service provision is fundamental to earthquake recovery, UNDP supported social work provision in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Adıyaman both in terms of physically providing facilities and enhancing service provision capacity.
The document is in Turkish and mainly targets the stakeholders in social work provision such as municipalities' social affairs departments and social service units; provincial directorates of the Ministry of Family and Social Services; and civil society organizations running community centers, rehabilitation and consultancy.
