Turkmenistan has committed itself to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Goals (SDGs), and their implementation in national development plans. This Project, launched in 2018, is aimed at supporting the achievement of SDGs and is a joint platform for coordinating the work of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan and UN agencies in the field of SDG implementation.

The goal of the Third Phase of this Project is to contribute to sustainable development by strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan as the responsible body for coordinating activities for the implementation in Turkmenistan of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations Member States.

The Project will include the following components: 1) Assisting the implementation of the SDGs and the improvement of funding issues to strengthen the financial basis underpinning national development strategies in the context of the SDGs implementation; 2) Enhancing national capacity on WTO accession.
