Response Toward Covid-19 Resilience (RESTORE) Project
UNDP’s response to Covid-19 crisis in Indonesia for initiating immediate response to support government in critical measures
Objectives
Indonesia is responding to its immediate needs, through improved health systems and its longer COVID-19 economic recovery through stimulus measures that are: a) Climate and environmentally sensitive, b) Gender sensitive, and c) Inclusive, in line with the Government’s RPJMN.
Gender and Social Inclusion Approach
Launched in October 2021 and concluded in December 2022, RESTORE collaborated with various governmental, civil society, and private sector partners to implement inclusive, multi-sectoral responses, develop gender-sensitive fiscal policies, and support MSMEs in integrating COVID-19 prevention into their strategies. By working with organizations like the Indonesian Association of Women with Disabilities and various ministries, RESTORE has significantly advanced gender equality and social inclusion in Indonesia's COVID-19 recovery efforts. The key results of this project include: (1) Developing SOPs for dealing with abuse against women during the pandemic, which were subsequently implemented in nine Indonesian provinces; (2) Providing sustainable business (Bisnis Lestari) training for MSMEs during the pandemic, especially those run by women; (3) Constructing container-based service center for complaints and rehabilitation of victims of gender-based violence in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and provincial and city health offices.
