Support for Development of Sustainable Blue Economy Programme in St. Vincent & The Grenadines

March 1, 2024

The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) aims to advance the economic, social, and cultural development of the archipelago by realizing the full potential of its Blue Economy sectors in an integrated and climate-resilient way while protecting the health and biodiversity of its marine space.

With financial support from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), a rapid assessment of existing Blue Economy work and understanding in SVG was undertaken to support the following objectives:

(1) to re-engage with key stakeholders in SVG to develop an overall vision as well as goals and possible priority areas to support Blue Economy work including national programmes, investment plans and opportunities for innovative financing solutions.

(2) to present immediate priorities needed to advance a sustainable Blue Economy in SVG.
