The report summarizes the results of an initiative supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) to promote ratification of the Minamata Convention in Georgia and build national capacities for its implementation.  

The Report provides the review of the National Inventory of Mercury carried out in Georgia in 2016 and 2017 and the assessment of the policy/regulatory and institutional frameworks for the ratification and implementation of the Minamata Convention. Furthermore, it describes potential future interventions that target major sectors responsible for mercury and hazardous waste management in Georgia.
