Promoting the application of human rights standards through innovative and digital solutions

January 28, 2020

UNDP, in cooperation with the Ombudsperson Institution, have developed innovative and digital solutions aimed at delivering a more qualitative justice, and application of human rights standards.

The Human Rights Database, officially launched on the 10 December 2019 (https://humanrights.oik-rks.org/), anchors the local and international human rights legislation, the international human rights instruments applicable in Kosovo, as well as European Court of Human Rights case law. The Database also demonstrates the links of 17 SDGs with the international instruments applicable in Kosovo and primary legislation in force.

The Database will support legal professionals, policy makers, human rights activists, CSOs, researchers, and students in applying relevant local and international legislation on human rights in their work. For rights-holders, the human rights database offers an effective way to monitor and hold the central institutions accountable for, among others, human rights violations.

The database was developed with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
