Resilient development
Development needs to be not only sustainable – but also resilient to shocks and crisis.
UNDP helps Serbia to cut Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adapt to climate change, reduce – re-use and recycle consumed materials, change its transport patterns, and reduce biodiversity loss. In this way UNDP contributes to Serbia’s sustainable growth.
UNDP also helps Serbia to be ready to face shocks and crisis, when they occur, – regardless of their causes, whether they are natural or geological hazards, climate events, or human-induced.
UNDP’s work in this area focuses on implementation of climate change mitigation and adaptation measures; introduction of innovative climate-smart urban development, increasing energy efficiency and the share of renewable energy sources in power generation in Serbia, as well as overall environmental protection.
