Darfur Internal Dialogue and Consultations
Darfur Internal Dialogue and Consultations
March 14, 2019
The Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD), signed between the Government of Sudan and some of the Darfur movements provides for the conduct of a Darfur-wide Internal Dialogue and Consultation (DIDC) for common Darfuris. The DIDC process is designed to consolidate the achievements of the Doha peace process, including effective implementation of the DDPD, through an inclusive and transparent engagement of the people of Darfur on issues underlying the Darfur conflict, their perspective on solutions and on the way forward to permanent peace. This UNDP report provides the progress made by the project on the process, the outcomes, recommendations and next steps.
DIDC is funded by European Commission, Government of Qatar and Government of Sudan, and is jointly implemented with UNAMID and DIDC Implementation Committee (DIC).
