Omer is a creative communications expert and an award-winning photographer. He is currently the Regional Communications Officer at UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) for Europe and Central Asia.

Omer has over 15 years of professional experience in different sectors. Before joining IRH, he led communications in the UNDP country office in Afghanistan, advocating for its development programmes. He also worked on a short-term assignment at UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) for Asia Pacific. His digital media products have won several international awards, and his human-centred stories have been featured prominently on UNDP global, country office and regional platforms.

However, Omer's experience is not limited to UNDP. He also worked as an M&E coordinator for a World Bank project, as a Corporate Analyst in a telecommunications company, and as an IT and web specialist for several organizations. He holds an MBA in Communications Management and a bachelor's degree in computer science.

In addition to his professional achievements, Omer is a father of three who enjoys gardening, travelling, photography, and exercising.
