How did COVID-19 affect the future of youth? The answers are in the Hope for Youth Forum

The Hope for Youth Forum hosted by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and International Labour Organization (ILO) will be held on 10 June 2021 in Erimtan Museum, Ankara.

In the Hope for Youth Forum, the impact of COVID-19 crisis on the youth participation in labour markets will be addressed and issues such as technologic developments, lifelong learning as a right, flexicurity and social security, access to opportunities, inequalities and labour will be discussed.

The “Declaration of Hope for Youth”, which is prepared by taking into consideration the findings of the researches, outcomes of the online workshops and events attended by various NGOs, opinion leaders, artists, public institutions, business sector leaders and demands of young people to make the voices of youth better heard, will be presented at the Forum.

The Forum will be held outdoors and admit a limited number of participants due to COVID-19 measures, however the Forum can also be followed live on UNDP Turkey Youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRKAFBrhD1I

All activities related to the impact of COVID-19 on youth and the Hope for Youth Forum are carried out under two projects, namely the “COVID-19 Resilience and Response Project” implemented by UNDP with funding from the Government of Japan, and the “Decent Work Opportunities for Refugees and Host Communities in Turkey Project” implemented by ILO with funding from the US Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (USPRM).
