Peace Support Facility for Yemen 2020 Annual Report
June 28, 2021
Despite continuing volatility and insecurity, UNDP's Peace Support Facility (PSF) was able to make a notable contribution in the on-going pursuit of a peace agreement in Yemen in 2020.
Some of the key results to be highlighted from the year include, but are not limited to:
- A comprehensive damage assessment of two Liebherr cranes in the Port of Hodeida was successfully undertaken. This will lead to the procurement of new equipment and any maintenance of existing equipment necessary.
- The completion and handover of a rehabilitated Training Center in the Hodeida Port which will help ensure staff are fully educated and equiped to successfully manage the port. The Center had been badly damaged in the conflict and was unusable.
- Several procurement processes were undertaken for critical spare parts for port machinery that will alow them, and the port, to gradually return to normal operating capacity.
- The launch of Window Two including the implementation of several initiatives to support community dialogue.
