MSMEs are the drivers of trade within and across national borders in Africa. They are drivers of innovation, production and trade in the continental market, operating under the AfCFTA. UNDP's engagements with MSMEs and business associations are ongoing through capacity-building workshops, cross-regional dialogues, technical assistance on compliance to trade rules and procedures, among others.
As the AfCFTA enters its implementation stage, supporting Champion MSMEs to explore, engage and expand their market opportunities within the continental market, is of great importance.
In this context, the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) offers MSMEs with opportunities to showcase ‘Made in Africa’ goods and services and enhance their Business-to-Business (B2B), Business-to-Consumers (B2C) and Business-to-Governments (B2G) experiences. The IATF is a premier trade exhibition and networking event aimed at promoting Intra-African Trade and Economic Integration, taking place from 9 to 15 November 2023 in Cairo, Egypt.
