Armen Martirosyan
Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP in Belarus
Mr. Armen Martirosyan took office of the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Belarus in August 2020.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Martirosyan had dedicated over 15 years to different positions at the UNDP Country Office in Armenia, ensuring coordination of the Environmental, Disaster Risk Reduction, Sustainable Growth and Resilience portfolios, which also included dealing with the socio-economic dimension of the programme.
Before joining UNDP, Mr. Martirosyan worked for the Regional Environmental Center for the Caucasus (Tbilisi), served at the Armenian Red Cross Society, and assisted at the programmes of German Technical Assistance (GIZ) and the EU TACIS.
Holding Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering (American University of Armenia), Mr. Martirosyan is also a fellow of the John Smith Programme. He completed courses at the Central Eurasian Leadership Academy (Koch University, Istanbul) and a Senior Executive Course at the Harvard Kennedy School (Boston, USA).
Mr. Martirosyan is an Armenian national, married with two children. He speaks Armenian, Russian, English, and basic Georgian.
