UNDP in Belize
Legal Framework
UNDP Belize is part of the UN System and is one of the seven resident UN Agencies in Belize. UNDP Belize was established on 7 June 1982 with the signing of the Standard Basic Assistance Agreement (SBAA) and opened office in Belize in the early 1990s; UNDP Programme in Belize is guided the 2022-2026 Country Programme Document (CPD), and the United Nations Multi country Sustainable Development Framework for the Caribbean (UN MSDF 2022-2026). The Country Programme is nationally executed and implemented by a range of partners including government ministries, state governments, district authorities, civil society organizations, NGOs and other UN agencies.
Partnering with the United Nations System in Belize, UNDP also adopts the delivering as one mechanism on joint programmes guided by the United Nations Multi Country Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for the Caribbean.
