Oliver Creton Nielsen commenced his internship at UNDP-Belize on August 26th, 2019, for his abroad studies semester.
Mr. Nielsen is currently undergoing his Bachelor’s degree in Emergency and Disaster Risk Management from the University College Copenhagen in Denmark.
Mr. Nielsen will be supporting UNDP in its Business Continuity Plan, development of a communications strategy, as well as support to various projects, such as Enabling Gender-Responsive Disaster Recovery, Climate and Environmental Resilience in the Caribbean (EnGenDER) Project.
The Bachelor's degree programme focuses on areas such as organisational management, project management and tools to develop plans to reduce likelihood, mitigate and prepare against disasters before, during and after the incident.
Mr. Nielsen has a diploma in Event Management and Prince2 Project Management.
Furthermore, he has had 2 years’ experience as a disabled helper and 5 years of experience in retail as a store manager.
Mr. Nielsen is a half British and half Danish national, who has his darling Bruce the pug waiting back home.
