UNDP has handed over two refrigerated trucks and one incinerator to health authorities to support the COVID-19 health response in Guinea-Bissau. Speaking at the event held in CECOME, Tjark Marten Egenhoff, the UNDP Resident Representative, iterated the long-standing commitment of UNDP to support the people of Guinea-Bissau. He highlighted key initiatives to this effect, including support in the treatment and prevention of tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and malaria, the fight against COVID-19, the improvement of health facilities, and the strengthening of the capacity of health professionals. Dionisio Cumba, the Minister of Health present, acknowledged the support provided by UNDP and reflected on the country’s commitment to strengthen partnerships for improved health facilities in the country. Other senior officials of CECOME, UNDP, and a large number of civil society representatives also attended the event.
