Private Sector and Civil Society

UNDP’s partnerships with private sector and civil society helped fast tracked economic recovery in hurricane-hit nations through relief grants to the Medium, Small and Micro Enterprise sector. As co leaders of environmental clean-ups in these nations, they help clear the way for emergency response teams, restore biodiversity loss and tourism hotspots for economic growth. Private sector and civil society remain our leading partners in communities on the frontlines of climate change. With their help, many communities are building resilience to climate change impacts which is preserving food security, jobs, education, access to water.

UNDP and the UN

Under the umbrella of the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Jamaica, UNDP partners with agencies, funds and programmes to deliver joint programmes through the UN Multi Country Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UN MSDCF) in the Caribbean. Through this framework UNCTs combine resources and leverage technical expertise to provide multi-agency support to development challenges. The multi country regional approach replaces stand-alone country programmes commonly known as the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).
