Majida Alassaf
Deputy Resident Representative
Majida Alassaf is a Jordanian working in development since 1995. As a researcher and planner she worked in different areas related to employing Science and Technology in development in themes related to environment, water, and agriculture.
She spent years working in Science and Technology and innovation Policy formulation, Human Security, and Public Policy Dialogue at the Higher Council for Science and Technology, and the EU in Jordan.
She also worked in areas of Poverty alleviation, and democratic governance. Ms. Alassaf joined UNDP Jordan Country Office in 2009 and is currently the Head of Programme and Deputy Resident Representative.
She has a Master degree in Biochemical Engineering from the University College London.
She is the co-author a no. of studies such as Governance and institutional issues in Jordan, National Scientific and Technological Requirements and Potential, and Role of Women in Science and Technology, the case of Jordan.
Currently she is leading a UNDP team of national and international staff members, projects’ staff, consultants, UNVs and interns working with UNDP country Office in areas of Environment, Climate Change and Energy, Poverty Alleviation, Democratic Governance, Local Economic Development and DRR.
