“ເຂົາເຈົ້າບອກໃຫ້ເຮົາໄປຊອກເຮັດວຽກທີ່ເຂົ້າກັບໂຕເອງເດີ້ ແລ້ວມັນແມ່ນວຽກໃດລະ?”

“ມັນຮູ້ສຶກຄືກັບໂລກສະຫຼາຍໃນພິບຕາ ແຕ່ມັນກໍ່ດີຂຶ້ນຫຼັງຈາກເວລາຜ່ານໄປ, ຂ້ອຍກັບມາຫາໂຕເອງອີກຄັ້ງ ແລະ ຄິດໄດ້ວ່າ ຂ້ອຍບໍ່ຄວນຈະຍອມເເພ້ງ່າຍໆຖ້າຫາກຍັງມີຊີວິດຢູ່. ສະນັ້ນ, ຂ້ອຍຈຶ່ງເລີ່ມຊອກຫາໂອກາດໃໝ່ໃຫ້ກັບຕົນເອງຕໍ່ໄປ ດ້ວຍຄວາມຫວັງວ່າ ມັນຕ້ອງມີຈັກອັນແຫຼະ ທີ່ເປັນຂອງເຮົາ”

“ຢາກຝາກເຖິງຜູ້ຈ້າງງານທຸກຄົນ ແລະ ສັງຄົມວ່າ ເພື່ອໃຫ້ພວກເຮົາສາມາດເຮັດວຽກໄດ້ຢ່າງມີສ່ວນຮ່ວມ ແລະ ໄຮ້ຂໍ້ຈໍາກັດ ຄໍາວ່າ ‘ໂອກາດ’ ບໍ່ຄວນໃຫ້ເປັນພຽງຄໍາເວົ້າເທົ່ານັ້ນ, ການກະທໍາຈໍາເປັນຍິ່ງກວ່າ”

“I was working with full attention and trying to do my best, but why? Why is there no opportunity for me? Or because we are persons with disabilities?” 

Ms. Nisa Khotyotha, a girl who was born with vision impairment. Although she is not totally blind, her condition has hardened her daily life especially when she went to school, she worked extra hard to ensure that she could catch up with the class properly. She graduated bachelor’s degree from the National University of Laos, Faculty of Letters, Major of Chinese Language and got an opportunity to work in a private school, with her hard work she strongly believed to pass the evaluation and getting accepted as a full-time teacher.

“I was so proud of myself that I, a person with disability finally get the job that I believed it would provide consistent income so that I can earn my own living and take care of my family. There’s a lot to adapt myself to at the very beginning but everything went quite smoothly after a while, I tended to get along well with colleagues and students, it felt so nice!”

However, her dream lasted for two weeks, she had to quit because the school was not willing to accommodate her.

 “They told me to better find another job that suit me well, but which one is it?”

“It felt like the world collapsed but it was healed as time is passing by, I came to myself again and realized that as long as I’m still alive, I shouldn’t give up. So, I’ve been starting to find another opportunity with the hope that there must be a right one for me one day”

“I would like to deliver to all employer and society that the opportunity shouldn’t be given only by a word, but action taken is also needed so that we can work smoothly and inclusively”
