Climate threats are particularly disruptive to individuals and communities when they affect healthcare facilities. Additionally, Covid-19 has had a heavy impact on healthcare facilities and public health. The repercussions of the virus, exacerbated by the continuous economic crises, affected the functionality of healthcare facilities and their ability to provide good healthcare to communities in need.
The report reviews climate change impacts on healthcare facilities, and the preparedness of such facilities to continue providing proper healthcare to communities while mitigating and adapting to sequential crises. The report highlights lessons learned from the COVID-19 responses in Lebanon, and identifies entry points t to build better moving forward, highlighting the urgency of developing preparedness and identifying measures that can enhance the resilience of healthcare centers to climate change.
