Grievances:
Social and Environmental Standards, Stakeholder Grievance and Compliance Procedures
The UNDP Social and Environmental Standards are integral to quality assurance and risk management in all UNDP programming. They define in clear and concrete terms what UNDP stands for, in line with our mandate and the UN’s normative framework. Stakeholder grievance and compliance review functions underpin the SES. The Stakeholder Response Mechanism helps project-affected stakeholders, UNDP’s partners (governments, NGOs, businesses) and others to jointly address grievances or disputes related to the social and/or environmental impacts of UNDP supported projects. Complaints can be submitted to the respective project as the first level, or to the Nigeria Country office, or directly to UNDP’s Headquarters.
UNDP encourages any person who believes that the community or the environment has been affected or will potentially be affected by a UNDP project. To file a complaint: https://www.undp.org/nigeria/projects/stakeholder-response-mechanism-country-office-level
