Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Ali Al Derazi, received Mr. Firas Gharaibeh, the Acting RR of UNDP Bahrain. Al-Derazi praised the existing cooperation between the NIHR and UNDP, noting the efforts of UNDP in supporting the goals and efforts of Bahrain in sustainable development. He stressed the NIHR’s keenness to benefit from the distinguished expertise of UNDP in building the capabilities of the Institution.
He also revealed that as part of NIHR’s strategy to protect human rights to live in a healthy environment, a conference on environmental protection will be organized next year in cooperation with UNDP.
From his side, Mr. Gharaibeh expressed his appreciation for the NIHR's efforts and activities to contribute to the advancement of sustainable development through human rights and in a way that serves the work of the human rights system in the Kingdom.
