In 2013, to help tackle the root causes of crises in the Sahel and empower its people, the UN Security Council adopted the United Nations Integrated Strategy for the Sahel (UNISS) - which carves out 10 countries and focuses on three strategic goals: Governance, Resilience and Security.

"A Regeneration" represents UNDP’s contribution to driving transformation and sustainable development in the Sahel and attaining the goals articulated in the United Nations Integrated Strategy for the Sahel (UNISS) and key national and regional frameworks.
