Local media/journalist field visit-Northern region

To increase awareness of the UN's assistance and highlight our work in Afghanistan, the Resident Coordinator's Office and local media and journalists collaborated on a mission to the western region.
Tolo News: The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has equipped fifteen women's workshops with solar power to support women entrepreneurs in Balkh.
- Aryana News: The UNDP has created a solar power system for fifteen production workshops to support women entrepreneurs in Balkh province.
- Pajhwok News: The UNDP has established solar power systems for 15 factories owned by women.
- Salam Watandar: This solar electricity supply system was created with the support of the UNDP at a cost of about 225,000 US dollars to solve the electricity problems in the workshops.
- Killid Radio: The UNDP announces the launch of a program to support industrial women by distributing solar power systems.
- Killid Radio: A number of residents of Mazar-e-Sharif city ask the relief organizations to pay attention to the construction of alleys and roads in the city instead of distributing food to families who do not need it. They presented their request after the completion of the concreting of 6 alleys in the 10th district of Mazar-i-Sharif city. Donor officials say that they are trying to provide work for people in different sectors.
- Aryana News: The UNDP office in Balkh Province says that this institution has started the process of implementation of construction projects in addition to humanitarian aid.
Pajhwok News: Construction work on a kilometer-long road, costing 8.5 million Afghanis, has been launched in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province.
