Validation workshop of the Gender Action Plan for the 'Implementing Sustainable Low And Non-chemical Development in SIDS (ISLANDS)' project was held, presided by the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy. The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), under its GEF 7 (7th funding cycle), and implemented with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Maldives.
Recognizing significant linkages between gender, chemicals and wastes, backed by the GEF, UNDP is happy to support the Maldives update and tailor the Regional Gender Analysis and Gender Action Plan to Maldives context under the ‘Indian Ocean Child’ project, implemented by UNDP in four Small Island Developing States.
