Nicholas Booth
Resident Representative
Mr. Nicholas Booth has been serving as the UNDP Resident Representative in Papua New Guinea since September 2023. Mr. Booth, who is a national of the United Kingdom, has served as an international civil servant under different UN agencies for over 20 years. He joined UNDP Papua New Guinea from UNDP's Regional Hub in Bangkok, where he took charge of managing the Regional Programme and Global Policy Network.
A barrister with law degrees from both Cambridge and Oxford Universities in the United Kingdom, Mr. Booth is a human rights lawyer by training and has devoted his career to solving issues surrounding rule of law, access to justice and conflict prevention. He has served in Kosovo and Vietnam and worked in and with UNDP Country Offices all over Asia and the Pacific as part of his regional job in Bangkok.
Aadil Mansoor
Deputy Resident Representative
Aadil has over 20 years of experience in international development, specializing in policy analysis, strategic planning, program management, and monitoring and evaluation. Over the years, he has led the design and implementation of numerous strategies and programmes in the fields of governance, economic development, resilience and disaster risk reduction, climate change, rural development, education, health, and women and youth empowerment.
Prior to joining UNDP Papua New Guinea, Aadil was working with UNDP Libya as Deputy Resident Representative for Programme (ad interim) and Head of Programme Management Support Unit (2022-2024). Earlier, he worked with the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as Senior Development Effectiveness Specialist (2020-2022); with UNDP Pakistan as Assistant Resident Representative, Crisis Prevention & Recovery (2014-2019), and Chief, Strategic Management Unit (2011-2014); and with various national and international development organisations across Pakistan (2000-2009).
Aadil obtained his MSc. in Economics (1999) from Pakistan, and Master of Science in Public Policy & Management (2010) from the Carnegie Mellon University (Australia campus).
