October 14, 2024
Join us in celebrating the rich artistic talent of Trinidad and Tobago! The “We Ting” Community Caravan, brought to you by UNDP and the Ministry of Sport and Community Development, invites you to participate in the Community Art Contest—a unique event combining creativity, intergenerational collaboration, and community spirit.
📅 Event Date: November 3rd, 2024
📍 Location: Diego Martin Central, Community Centre, Trinidad and Tobago
⏰ Time: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Event Highlights:
🎨 Local Artists’ Exhibition:
Showcase your art and represent your community! Local artists are invited to submit one piece for exhibition, aligning with themes of community and cultural pride. Selected pieces will be displayed at each Caravan location, where artists will connect with their communities and receive feedback from a panel of judges. One local winner from each community will advance to the finals in Port of Spain!
🤝 Participatory Community Art Project:
Let’s create art together! Led by a renowned national artist, each community will work on a collaborative piece, such as a mural or mosaic. Youth (under 30) and senior citizens (over 50) are encouraged to join forces, bringing unique perspectives to this intergenerational project. This final masterpiece will represent the spirit and unity of each community. No competition—just a celebration of shared creativity.
