What We Do
United Nations Development Programme is the United Nations’ lead agency on international development. UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty while protecting the planet. We help countries develop strong policies, skills, partnerships, and institutions so they can sustain their progress.
UNDP’s office in Trinidad and Tobago (UNDP TTMCO) is a multi-country office, with responsibilities for Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten as well as Trinidad & Tobago. We work with a wide variety of national partners across all levels of society, supporting countries and communities as they work to eradicate poverty, implement the Paris Agreement on climate change, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. We advocate for transformative change, connecting the countries that we represent through the multi-country office to the resources they need to drive growth, and socio-economic development and create the changes that can help improve the quality of life for everyone.
Our multi-country office promotes Climate Action, energy transition, inclusive growth and digitalization alongside rule of law and governance. Under the leadership of national institutions, and in collaboration with local, national, regional and international partners, UNDP multicultural team provides technical support and enhance capacities for programme implementation in Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Our Strategic Plan 2022-2025 introduces the evolution of #NextGenUNDP into #FutureSmartUNDP. More than a mantra, it is our new benchmark for success in the future of development. Building on UNDP’s 50 years of expertise across 170 countries, this new approach allows us to focus and prioritize where country demands are greatest. By working together in this way, we aim to expand people’s choices for a fairer, sustainable future, with people and planet in balance.
