In this handbook dedicated to refrigeration engineering and aimed at refrigeration technicians and specialists, readers will be able to understand the basics of refrigeration engineering and the ways of maintaining refrigerators. Besides the above-mentioned, the handbook addresses the following issue areas: How the refrigerators are impacting the ozone layer depletion and global warming; Fundamentals of getting refrigeration; Cooling agents; Major aspects in operating refrigerating units and recommendations on their maintenance; Major equipment failures and the ways of solving them.

It bears mentioning that this handbook represents the first-ever handbook on the topic of refrigeration engineering written in Uzbek language, apart from Russian language. It was published within the framework of the project “Initial Implementation of Accelerated Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) Phase Out in the Countries with Economies in Transition (CEIT) – Uzbekistan”, the project of the UNDP, GEF and State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
