LGBTI Inclusion Index - Pilot Phase Factsheet
October 10, 2022
The LGBTI Inclusion Index is a UNDP-led initiative that aims to measure the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people across the five strategic areas of health, education, personal safety and violence, civil and political participation, and economic empowerment.
The Index has been developed in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including LGBTI people, government, academics, and relevant private sector stakeholders. The set of proposed 51 indicators for the Index, which UNDP and the World Bank published after extensive consultations, is available here. These indicators follow the structure of, and are compatible with, the target indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Index aims to inform policies, programs and investments for strengthening LGBTI rights and inclusion.
In Viet Nam, UNDP country office in collaboration with the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC), and relevant LGBTI organizations jointly implement the pilot phase of the LGBTI Inclusion Index.
