UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of Economy launches a free mentorship program tailored to the needs of female business owners from Belarus’ three regions.
A New Mentorship Program for Women Entrepreneurs Announced in Belarus
August 5, 2024
Women entrepreneurs in Belarus are making significant strides. According to the national Statistical Agency BELSTAT their numbers increased by 8% between 2018 and 2023, reaching 39.5% of all entrepreneurs in the country.
To further support and accelerate this growth, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in partnership with the Ministry of Economy, is launching a free mentorship program tailored to the needs of female business owners from Belarus’ three regions.
The four-month initiative aims to connect experienced entrepreneurs with those seeking guidance and support. Mentors and mentees will work closely together, sharing knowledge, solving challenges, and exploring new business opportunities. The program will offer a personalized approach, ensuring that each participant receives tailored support to achieve their goals.
Who Can Participate?
Female business owners and managers from Viciebsk, Mahilieu, and Homiel regions are invited to apply. This includes those running small and medium-sized enterprises as well as self-employed individuals. The program is open to both experienced entrepreneurs who can share their expertise as mentors, and those seeking guidance as mentees.
How the Programme Works
Unlike traditional business training, this mentorship program focuses on one-on-one support. Participants will be carefully matched based on their experience, goals, and business areas. Mentors will share their industry knowledge and practical advice, while mentees will gain valuable insights and develop new skills.
The program will combine online and in-person sessions, providing flexibility and accessibility for participants. Through a series of workshops, coaching sessions, and networking events, participants will have ample opportunities to connect and learn from each other.
Benefits for Participants
For mentors, the program offers a chance to give back to the community, enhance leadership skills, and expand professional networks. Mentees will gain access to expert guidance, develop new business strategies, and build confidence in their entrepreneurial journey.
By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, the mentorship program aims to create a thriving ecosystem for women entrepreneurs in Belarus.
